Sahar Eskandari Psychotherapy

Therapy That Hits Deep!

Individuals and Couples

Virtual and in-Person Downtown Toronto

About Me

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with over 9 years of experience supporting children, adults, and couples. My approach is grounded in Psychodynamic, depth-oriented, and psychoanalytic therapy, while I also integrate approaches such as CBT, DBT, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and art and play therapy.

I believe meaningful change involves more than managing symptoms. Together, we can explore how past experiences, relationships, and recurring patterns shape your present life, while developing practical tools to help you navigate current challenges. My approach balances deeper self-understanding with tangible strategies for emotional regulation, healthier relationships, and lasting change.

I work with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, relationship difficulties, family estrangement, self-confidence, trauma, and concerns related to ADHD, autism, and identity. My practice is culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ affirming, and neurodiversity-inclusive.

I strive to create a collaborative, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your experiences with curiosity and feel understood in the complexity of who you are. Whether you feel stuck in familiar patterns, are struggling in your relationships, or want to understand yourself more deeply, therapy can help you move toward greater clarity, connection, and agency.

I offer virtual and in-person sessions in downtown Toronto, and I invite you to reach out for a free initial consultation to explore whether working together feels like a good fit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from therapy with you?

Therapy with me is a space where we can slow down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and explore what may be contributing to your difficulties. We’ll look at your current concerns alongside the experiences, relationships, and emotional patterns that have shaped you. My approach is collaborative and tailored to your needs, combining deeper exploration with practical strategies when helpful. The goal is not simply to manage symptoms, but to develop a greater understanding of yourself and create meaningful, lasting change.

Will therapy give me practical tools, or will we mainly talk about my past?

Both are possible. While I value understanding the deeper roots of difficulties, therapy can also help you navigate your life as it is now. Depending on your needs, we may incorporate practical strategies from CBT, DBT, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and mindfulness to help with anxiety, emotional regulation, communication, and everyday challenges. We can work on immediate concerns while also exploring the underlying patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

Can you help with recurring relationship problems?

Yes. Whether you are struggling in a romantic relationship, navigating family conflict, or finding that similar difficulties arise across different relationships, therapy can help you understand what may be happening beneath the surface. We can explore communication patterns, emotional needs, boundaries, attachment, and the ways people respond to feelings of disconnection or conflict. The aim is to help you develop greater self-awareness, communicate more effectively, and build relationships that feel more secure and fulfilling.

Do you offer online and in-person therapy?

Yes. I offer both in-person psychotherapy in downtown Toronto and online sessions. We can discuss which format best suits your circumstances, preferences, and therapeutic goals.

Do you offer Couples Therapy?

5. Do you work with ADHD and autistic individuals? How about LGBTQ+ community?

Yes. I have clinical experience supporting individuals with ADHD and autism. Therapy can offer support with executive functioning, emotional regulation, self-esteem, relationships, burnout, and the experience of feeling misunderstood or out of step with others. My approach is neurodiversity-inclusive and focuses on understanding your individual needs rather than expecting you to fit a particular mould. We can explore practical supports while also making space for your experiences, identity, and relationships.

I also aim to provide an inclusive, affirming space where you can explore your identity, relationships, and experiences without fear of judgment. Whether you are navigating identity, family acceptance, relationship concerns, or the impact of stigma and discrimination, therapy can offer space to explore what matters to you at your own pace.
